Our International School – a Special Program in Tropical Biobased Production Systems, formerly known as the Summer School – is an academic program held in person each July at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (Esalq), University of São Paulo (USP), in Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil.
The program was developed to address key topics related to tropical bio-based production systems, with the aim of providing a comprehensive understanding of Brazilian agricultural production, including its economic, technical, and social dimensions.
In the 9th edition of the program, we welcomed 22 participants from 9 universities across 4 different countries, in addition to Brazil.
Participants had the opportunity to expand their knowledge through 23 lectures delivered by 25 professors from various departments and areas of expertise at Esalq/USP, covering a broad range of topics aligned with the theme of the International School.
Furthermore, both on-campus and off-campus visits enriched the learning experience by allowing students to apply and engage with the content covered in class.
